Web Developer/LAMP Stack
Central Digital Publishing LLC provides online reference material, interactive search tools, and online games. We are looking for an experienced back-end Web Developer to enhance and support a large volume website. This position is in St. Petersburg, Florida.
DESIRED SKILL SETS AND CONCENTRATIONS:
- Competency with Linux, preferably Amazon Linux (AWS) and/or Centos/RedHat
- Familiarity with a scripting language such as Perl, PHP, or Python
- Strong understanding of MySQL and basic relational database concepts
- Git, or other similar release management tools
FAMILIARITY WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS IS A PLUS:
- AWS EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 53
- C and/or C++ on Linux
- JavaScript, including Object-Oriented JavaScript
- Apache
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop web applications, software and services
- Tracks down and corrects bugs and defects in existing software
- Makes other changes or improvements to existing software
- Automate support tasks, including security monitoring, data management, and data collection
- Make recommendations for new technologies and modernize legacy applications
- Develop reusable infrastructure components and application templates based on project experience
- Provide strategic direction for current and future release functionality
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Entry level – Mid level development experience
- Salary dependent on experience
- Able to work independently and efficiently
